Meta Bright Declares First Dividend In Decades After 9M26 PATAMI Jumps To RM11 Million
Meta Bright Group Bhd posted a 58% surge in profit attributable to owners of the company (PATAMI) to RM11 million for the nine months ended March 31, 2026 (9M26), driven by stronger contributions from its building materials, property development and hospitality segments.
Revenue for the nine-month period also rose 15% year-on-year to RM201.2 million from RM175 million previously, while basic earnings per share improved to 0.4 sen from 0.26 sen.
The building materials division remained the group’s largest contributor, accounting for about 75% of total revenue at RM150.3 million, supported by ongoing construction and infrastructure activities in Sabah. Meanwhile, the property development segment recorded the strongest growth, with revenue surging to RM23.2 million from RM3 million previously, driven by higher progress billings from the Damai Suites project in Kota Kinabalu and sales of completed inventory.
The hospitality segment also improved, with revenue rising to RM22.4 million on stronger room, food and beverage, and convention centre sales, while the energy-related business expanded to RM1.8 million amid higher completion of solar, energy efficiency and EV charging projects.
For the third quarter ended March 31, 2026, Meta Bright’s revenue increased to RM63.3 million from RM53.4 million a year earlier, while quarterly PATAMI jumped 325% to RM1.7 million from RM0.4 million.
Reflecting its improved financial performance, the group proposed an interim single-tier dividend of 0.037 sen per share, amounting to about RM1 million, its first dividend payout in more than two decades.
Executive Director of Corporate and Strategic Planning Derek Phang Kiew Lim said the group’s improved earnings reflected broader contributions across its core businesses, while newer energy-related ventures were gradually transitioning into recurring operating income streams.
Looking ahead, Phang highlighted that the group expects continued support from infrastructure-driven demand in Sabah and plans to expand its renewable energy and green infrastructure platform through strategic acquisitions and partnerships.
